These eggs are very dark brown. Some of them may contain a red "meat" spot due to the breed of chicken. These are laid by our French Black Copper Marans and Golden Cuckoo Marans. The red spots do not affect the egg, taste, or quality.  French chefs claim eggs from the French Black Cooper Maran are the best in the world.  We find them to taste the same as all our other eggs.  These red spots can be visually unappealing, as such we recommend they are used for baking, used as a breading bonding agent, or otherwise mixed into food, however, using them in any way you wish is entirely fine, such as scrambled or sunny side up if you choose.
